Lead accumulator in Electrochemistry.
Some Electrochemical cells are rechargeable – The reactions of electrode is reversible and the process is repeated . This type of cell is used to store current electricity.
The rechargeable cell is the familiar lead-acid accumulator(‘car battery’) found in most combustion-engined vehicles .
A simple lead-acid cell consisting of strips of lead and an electrolyte of dilute sulfuric acid is constructed and charged for different lengths of time.
The cell is then discharged through a light bulb and the time the bulb remains lit measured. Plotting a graph of this time against the charging time shows the relationship between the electrical energy put into the cell and the energy released.
Lead Acid Battery work
Storage battery is secondary battery which is use to store electricity. This electricity is use when it is required. When external source is connected to this battery then discharging of battery is start.
After discharging the battery it is connected to charging source then some chemical changes inside the battery and electric energy absorb by this chemical reaction.
